First week of soccer. Ballet girl scored her very first goal. Sunlight boy-he ran around and had no idea what he was to do, but running around was fantastic for him.
Update 8/24/2014: Yesterday was the second game. Sunlight boy scored a few goals and Ballet Girl scored a few goals too. After having practiced each day for a week both kids understand the objective and have zest for scoring. Also watching kindergartners play is fascinating because they are like the iron fillings following the magnet which is our case is the ball. I was delighted that both find my favorite game enjoyable!
On Saturday, in the afternoon, we went to a field and practiced passing, stealing and scoring. It was great. Ballet girl is very enthusiastic. Sunlight boy too but he is easily disappointed because we are faster.
We spent all of the rest of Saturday in the newest park in our neighborhood. In the morning, I refused to spend the morning with my niece and nephew - their attitude drives me crazy- one brushes against you as a cat to get Legos, the other is perpetually unsatisfied. I had enough. So, after soccer, I took my kids to the park and we stayed there until noon. We had pizza at Giordano's - partially because the evening before my brother, his kids and my folks bought pizza and took it to Ravinia but left none at home and my kids were asking. Then we were back in the park until 2:30pm. After a nap we spent the entire afternoon and evening until the lights were out at the park at 9:50pm. Ah, what a day!
